My Music High

For some odd reason, im way too focused on good music this week. Its just been sneaking up on me, from the most unexpected directions. Ironically, this is all music by European artists, and I LOVE IT! So what I decided to do was compile a KICK ASS playlist... and here it is:

The Feather That Tickles My Fancy.

Like a new car that you are itching to drive around in aimlessly, this hat NEEDED to be worn. But the only problem was, I bought it with one tiny red feather... so I added a larger peacocks feather. Now, with the extra touch of an even brighter color, the classic grey hat has been updated (or FILSAN-ified, if you will.)

The Toronto Effect

Being from the most amazing city - EVER - in the world, known as TORONTO, my inspiration and mostly sense of style and music is geared majorly toward the indie/underground crowd that I so helplessly fall into.

A few recent pictures of me walking the streets of Adams Morgan in Washington, DC expresses my new found sense of self and style.

Note the vest is vintage and the setting has a striking resemblance to the streets of Downtown Toronto.

No trip is final without the classic train/subway photo.

Have You Felt The Spirit Lately?

An introduction isn't needed for The Duke Spirit, they are just that good. Check this song out and let me know when they've reeled you in.

Why I Love White People

The website is in simple words EPIC. And a recent post on the website summed up my entire life. Call me a child, but 'Where The Wild Things Are' is still near and dear to my heart and I have in fact read that paper back children's story multiple times (years ago, naturally).

But this post made my day, and I just had to share it...

It is a guarantee that whenever it is announced that a popular book is being turned into a movie, white people will get upset. This is partly due to their fear that something they love will be made accessible to more people and thus enjoyed by more people which immediately decreases the amount of joy a white person can feel towards the original property. Yes, it’s complicated.

The other problem is that these announcements create a ticking time bomb where by a white person must read the book in ADVANCE of the release of the movie. This is done partly so that they can engage in the popular activity of complaining about how the movie failed to capture the essence of the book. But more importantly, once a book has been made into a movie, a white person can no longer read that book. To have read the book after the movie is one of the great crimes in white culture, and under no circumstances should you ever admit to doing this.

Dorothy's Magic Ruby Shoes

When you shop vintage you come across an abundance of rubbish, but the second you find something amazing you feel the invested time and effort was worth it. These shoes were part of my first purchase and as cheesy as this will sound, ill never forget them, tear tear!

And realistically, who doesn't want their own pair of ruby shoes to magically whisk you away?

My New Baby...

After a day of vintage shopping, I happened to stumble upon this little number and it absolutly blew me away. This Navy Blue Jacket with gold buttons is the PERFECT piece this fall.

The outcome of a random inspiration...

Pair it with a button up, preferably a subtle tone to contrast the dark and sophisticated navy colour.

Pair with with a tank top, keeping it light, very chic and summery (seen here).

Potential ensemble? Navy & gold purse + bag... does it get any better? I THINK NOT.

How do you feel about reggae? What about white boys playing reggae infused rock? A band that fits the description is Whole Wheat Bread - one i've been listening to for a while. This type of music is so underrated and needs to be given much more credit. The genre SKA (white boy reggae) needs to be let into your homes with wide arms and into your hearts with love.

Check out their most BAD ASS song (in my EXPERT opinion), titled 'Throw Your Sets Up'.

Now one look at these guys, and there shouldn't be a doubt in your mind that if they're not gay you would want a bite of what ever they've got. I mean from the hat with the glasses 'resting' on top, and the silk shirt to the plaid tie and the hot pink Louis V blazer. Sheer fabulousness, once again. & for the record, I STILL want a bite.

My Short, 7-Month Hiatus

Now I know i've been MIA lately (more like the last 7 MONTHS!!)
but i'm back now and in full force. My blog was dedicated to
all the aspects of life, but in the last little while so much
has changed. I would like to gear this blog towards fashion
and what inspires me. More so daily fashion choices on my part
and pictures of my utter fabulousness.

Vintage clothing and thrifting has a special place in my
heart now and from this point on, this blog will still
be about my useless knowledge for useless things but now
it will be about the material things in life.
